Restoration Advisory Board

Overview

A Restoration Advisory Board (RAB) is a stakeholder group that meets on a regular basis to discuss environmental restoration at a specific property that is either currently or formerly owned by the Department of Defense.   RABs enable people interested in environmental cleanup to exchange information with representatives of regulatory agencies, the installation, and the community.  While the general public can comment on the environmental program, RABs offer a focused and interactive opportunity to participate in the environmental restoration process.

On October 1, 2009, JB MDL was formed via the combination of McGuire Air Force Base, Fort Dix, and Naval Air Engineering Station Lakehurst, with the U.S. Air Force as the host command for operations, including environmental programs.  Prior to becoming JB MDL, each base had a separate RAB or Technical Review Committee and held separate meetings.  One joint RAB now exists for JB MDL.
